Profhilo Leeds
If your main concern is tired or dehydrated-looking skin rather than lost volume, Profhilo may be worth considering. It's designed to improve hydration, firmness and overall skin quality without changing the shape of your face.
Treatment is doctor-led at our clinic within LivingCare Group Private Hospital, Thorpe Park, Leeds. We're also convenient for patients from Cross Gates, Garforth and the wider Leeds area.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a bio-remodelling treatment made with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid.
Unlike dermal filler, it isn't used to add volume or reshape a particular feature. It spreads beneath the skin, where it supports hydration and the skin's collagen and elastin processes.
The aim is fresher, firmer and better-hydrated-looking skin.
For a more detailed explanation, read our guide to what is Profhilo.
What can Profhilo help with?
Profhilo may help improve the appearance of:
- Skin firmness and elasticity.
- Fine lines and crepey-looking skin.
- Dull or dehydrated-looking skin.
- Overall skin quality and radiance.
It can be used on areas including the face, neck, décolletage and hands.
Individual results vary. A doctor will assess your skin and explain whether Profhilo is a sensible option for you.
How does Profhilo work?
Profhilo is injected at a small number of precise points using the Bio-Aesthetic Points technique, often shortened to BAP. The product then spreads through the surrounding tissue.
Over the following weeks, the hyaluronic acid supports hydration and the skin's collagen and elastin processes. The change develops gradually rather than creating the immediate volume associated with a dermal filler.
Profhilo Structura for the lower face
Skinfinity also offers Profhilo Structura, a newer variant designed to give more structural support in the lower face, such as the jawline and chin, where skin can lose firmness with age.
Where classic Profhilo focuses on hydration and overall skin quality across the face and neck, Structura is aimed at patients whose main concern is lower-face laxity and definition. Like classic Profhilo, it is a bio-remodelling treatment made with hyaluronic acid rather than a traditional filler, so it supports the skin's own structure rather than adding obvious volume.
A doctor will assess which is more suitable for you, and the two can sometimes be used together as part of a plan. Individual results vary.
Profhilo or dermal filler?
They do different jobs.
Dermal filler adds volume to a specific area. Profhilo is used to improve hydration and skin quality more generally.
If your concern is the condition of the skin rather than lost volume, Profhilo may suit you better. Other options could include Sunekos or polynucleotides.
Sometimes a planned combination makes sense. Sometimes it doesn't. A doctor will recommend what fits your skin rather than trying to sell you a treatment you don't need.
You can also compare Profhilo with dermal fillers.
What happens during treatment?
Consultation first
A doctor assesses your skin, discusses what you want to change and checks whether treatment is suitable.
A short initial course
Profhilo is usually given as two sessions around four weeks apart. Maintenance may be recommended after the initial course.
Gradual change
Hydration may begin to improve within the first few weeks. The skin can continue to remodel over the following four to eight weeks.
Limited downtime for most patients
Small bumps can appear at the injection points and typically settle within hours. Mild redness, tenderness or bruising can also occur.
Your doctor will explain the expected side effects, less common risks and aftercare before you decide whether to proceed.
How long does Profhilo last?
Results typically last for around six months. That varies from person to person and can be affected by age, skin condition and lifestyle.
Many patients choose a maintenance session every four to six months. Your doctor will recommend a schedule based on how your skin responds rather than putting you on a fixed plan automatically.
Is Profhilo safe?
Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid, a substance that also occurs naturally in the body. That doesn't make treatment risk-free.
Possible side effects include redness, tenderness, swelling, bruising and small bumps at the injection points. There are also less common risks associated with any injectable treatment.
At Skinfinity, treatment is carried out by a doctor following a consultation. Your medical history, suitability, risks and aftercare will be discussed before you make a decision.
Profhilo prices in Leeds
Profhilo starts from £350 for a single treatment. A course package is available from £900.
