Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in skin, to achieve compelling results:

Dermal filler is fantastic way of removing unsightly deep wrinkles or lines on the face by injecting a substance called Hyaluronic acid, (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance within the human skin, and is important for holding moisture within the skin. At Skinfinity, only high quality HA products are used, please feel free to ask us about our premium products.

The filler is injected into the deeper layers of skin underneath the deep line or wrinkles, instantly reducing the unsightly appearance. Over the following four weeks, the filler causes rehydration of the skin and underlying tissues, leading to an improved rejuvenating effect.

As with all treatments at Skinfinity, you will only ever be seen by our highly trained, experienced medical team

What can dermal fillers be used for?

  • Cheeks: To contour and enhance the cheeks to create higher cheekbone, or, to create a 'lifting' effect to help eliminate lower-face wrinkles

  • Lips: To plump up and reshape for a more desired look.

  • Nose: To straighten out bumps, lift the tip or improve your nose shape.

  • Tear Troughs: To fill hollowing eyes that make you look tired

  • Dimpled Chin: To remove permanent dimples and lines in the chin

  • Marionette Lines: To reduce lines that give you a downward smile

  • Nasolabial Folds: To reduce wrinkles that run from the nose to the corner of the mouth

  • Smokers lines: To reduce lines around the mouth causing 'lipstick bleed'

  • Jawline: To define the jawline to create a more attractive shape depending on your desired look

Process and aftercare for dermal fillers:

A thorough medical history will be taken by one of our medical team to ensure you are suitable to receive dermal fillers, and the outcome/potential side effects will be explained. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. The injections are very quick and virtually painless as the filler is mixed with a local anaesthetic (lignocaine) your practitioner may also use topical anaesthetic cream to numb the area even more. There may be some swelling or bruising for 1-2 days after the treatment, but this is usually mild and settles quickly.

Are dermal fillers safe?

When performed by appropriately trained medical practitioners, dermal fillers are very safe. Unlike silicone (a filler previously used in cosmetic medicine) HA fillers are made from a substance that occurs naturally in the skin. This means that the filler will eventually be broken down by the body, so if you decide you prefer not to continue to have your lines filled, simply wait a few months and the filler will disappear.

Full aftercare instructions are given following treatment with dermal filler. Although you are more than welcome to get in touch if you have any questions, no follow-up is usually needed at the clinic. Depending on the area of the face treated, and the type of product used, filler usually last from between 6-18 months.

Dermal fillers for lip enhancement:

Dermal fillers especially designed for use in the lips can be used to plump up and reshape the lips. The results are dramatic and usually last up to 6 months. As the lips are a sensitive part of the body, dental or topical anaesthetic is administered before your treatment which will make the procedure completely painless. This is an extremely popular treatment and can make a huge difference to your overall look.

Dermal fillers for cheek enhancement:

As we age, the youthful firmness of the skin deteriorates and our cheeks start to sag. This is one of the main reasons the face can look older than the person feels inside, and the effects can be made even worse by deep tear troughs. Special volume-enhancing dermal fillers are injected into the deep tissues of the cheeks making them look plumper and more youthful. Higher cheeks also mean that deep wrinkles in the lower half of the face can be reduced, giving an overall rejuvenating effect.
