Are you a sucker for beautiful, flawless skin?

It’s all the rage with countless celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian, Anna Friel, Danny Minogue, Bar Refaeli, Kerry Katona and Rupert Everett just to ‘name drop’ a few. The ‘Vampire Facelift’ is fast becoming an extremely popular anti-aging treatment.

At Skinfinity, we are proud to be able to offer this amazing treatment aimed at helping your skin look healthier and younger. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy is a safe, risk-free way of achieving noticeable, long-lasting skin rejuvenation without the need for medication or surgery.

What is the process like and how does it work?

A small sample of your blood is taken from a vein in your arm, much like any other blood test. This blood is then spun in a centrifuge until all of the red blood cells move to the bottom, and the fluid part sits on top. This is the platelet rich plasma (PRP), this is mixed with local anaesthetic, which is then injected into the areas of skin that you are unhappy with. Depending on your age and skin type, you may require between 1-3 treatments over 3-4 months, followed by a top-up treatment once or twice a year.

Once the PRP has been injected into the skin, the platelets are activated and they release their chemicals. This stimulates the skin to increase blood flow to the area, new collagen is formed (the springy substance that makes skin look and feel firm), and the skin undergoes rejuvenation. This is all part of the body’s natural healing process.

What areas can be treated?

PRP therapy is effective in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, tired/sagging skin, and any areas that have lost firmness. This includes the forehead, around the eyes, cheeks, around the mouth, and neck. PRP can also be used to treat certain blemishes, such as acne marks, as well dark bags around the eyes. PRP is suitable for skin of all ages. Younger skin needs fewer treatments and the aim is to prevent the onset of skin ageing/deterioration. Later in life, skin loses some of its youthful appearance, and here PRP is used to turn back the years. PRP is also used following hair restoration surgery to increase the thickness and strength of the hair.

How much does it cost?

PRP treatments start at £400 for one treatment. Special rates are given when booking multiple treatments, or when combining PRP with another cosmetic treatment.
